Update 1/14/23: Unfortunately Fetch Bar & Grill is no longer open.
If you’ve seen Mean Girls, you know that really the goal is to “stop trying to make fetch happen.” But when you’re a super pawsome restaurant for dogs and people, Fetch is exactly what you want to happen! They’ve worked really hard at it, even getting some assistance from celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
We went to Fetch Bar & Grill (formerly Fetch Bistro) in Wichita, Kansas on the recommendation of a friend from Virginia. We’re always looking for dog-friendly activities and this did not disappoint. The only other dedicated dog-friendly bar that we’ve been to so far is Bark & Brew in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This was a different experience but equally as enjoyable. We loved being able to eat with Truffles, especially with the care they take at Fetch to make her so comfortable.
Here are the details of our two visits to Fetch.

We went to Fetch for lunch on one day and dinner on another. The food and drinks on both occasions were fantastic, although I preferred the lunch meal for taste. Stephen and I each had a lunch special. He chose the Grilled Chicken Caprese and I chose the Fetch Grilled Chicken. I enjoyed a Red Blend and Stephen had a Dunkel. We shared a piece of Death by Chocolate cake.
For dinner, we bought a Groupon for 2 burgers and an order of wings. Stephen had the All Day Burger and a Nitro Stout while I had a Fetch Burger and Merlot. We shared a slice of plain cheesecake too which might have been my favorite thing of all!

But enough about the food, although it is really good. Let’s get to why we’d gone to Fetch in the first place – Truffles! Truffles was treated like a VIP (Very Impawtant Pet). She was welcomed to the table with water and then a cart!
As a small dog, it’s really sad for her to sit on the ground as all she can see are feet. She loves to be on our laps or – when we used to hang out at Longboards – on the bench or even hopping up on the table while we waited for food! So the cart that brought her up to table height was pawfection.

Not only did Truffles get to sit near us during our lunch, she got to enjoy a lunch (and then dinner) of her very own. Fetch offers two dog meals (which aren’t on the menu) for $5 each. Pro-tip – if you check-in on Facebook while you’re at Fetch and tell your server, you get 10% off your meal or a free dog meal (as of the time of this post being written).
Truffles tried the steak, carrots, green beans and rice for lunch and then tried the meatballs and rice for dinner. Both were satisfying and hit the spot! (You know the spot, the one that makes doggy legs go crazy!) Truffles ended up taking some of her meatballs home in a doggy bag!

Truffles got all the pets and attention she could pawsibly want. Joseph, our server on both occasions, was excellent. He checked on us the just the right amount and made sure we had everything we needed. Plus he gave Truffles all the pets she could handle.

There were a few dogs in Fetch during lunch – the owners’ Standard Poodles, Chuck, Solomon and Daisy. During dinner there were 9 dogs at Fetch at one point. Truffles, Sweet Pea, Chloe, Jaws, Diesel, Stella (it was her birthday) and a Pomsky puppy, Dachshund and American Eskimo (aka a Cloud Floof).

Outside they have a dog park that’s nicely fenced in and covered in AstroTurf. When the weather is better (than the January weather when we visited), there’s seating outside and in the dog park area.) On the way out to the dog park, there’s a dog treat dispenser. Truffles tried it but the treats were a little hard for her delicate teeth.

They also have a wall of pictures taken in the Fetch photo area. We tried it out for fun – Truffles was really rocking her glasses I have to say!

The experience at Fetch was a highlight for me. Not just in Kansas, but on the trip. It’s definitely my happy place. Surrounded by dogs, enjoying good food, drinks and service in a relaxed atmosphere. Truffles loved all the attention she received, the good dog food menu and the space to play outside. While I don’t review our places the same way Stephen might, I think Truffles’ rating will speak for us all.

Truffles Rating
4 Paws and the Golden Tail Wag*
*Please note – the Golden Tail Wag is a new level in the review scale – it means Pawfection Plus and had it existed when we visited Bark & Brew, they would have received it as well.
