After a fun time searching for the Totos Around Town in Wamego KS, Stephen and I visited the OZ Museum.
We were excited to learn a few days before that as long as Truffles could be carried, she could join us on the tour. It isn’t often that Truffles can join us when we visit a museum (although she did get to join us at the National Mustard Museum in Wisconsin), so we wanted to take advantage of this opportunity. Not to mention that Truffles needed to meet the most famous black dog of all!
So with Truffles safely tucked away in her backpack, we left Kansas and headed for Oz.

The OZ Museum was really interesting. There was so much to see, we definitely didn’t really “see” it all. But we definitely learned a few cool things, so here are some highlights to share with you. We won’t share it all though so you can experience it yourself one day when you visit.
There were statues of each of the main characters with information about them throughout the museum.

There was memorabilia of all things Oz – both historical and newer items – from around the world.

There were some neat artifacts from the film, or related to the film or anniversaries, with fun facts about how the movie was made.

There’s a small theater inside that plays the Wizard of Oz on repeat.

Truffles even met the Wicked Witch while she pretended to be Toto, following in the paw-steps of her famous black dog idol!

Finally it was time to head back to Kansas. But before we left we were able to pose in a balloon basket!

It was a great time at the OZ Museum in Wamego, Kansas. I took over 100 pictures and still haven’t shown you nearly a third of what was there – there’s so much to see, read and experience. It was $9 per person and the value is evident in how much there is available.
