If you read my recent update on our relationship on the road, you’ll have seen how much we’re just loving Connecticut. Uh. No. It’s definitely not the state for us one day.
However, we’ve found a little fun here and there. One of the most fun things we’ve done is the Bubble Run 5K. We were invited to it by Jenni, a member of our Facebook Group and we found out it was dog-friendly and mostly free! Sign us up!!
Jenni, her family, friends and her dog Winnie, were there when we arrived. She treated us to Deviant Donuts – they had a Butterbeer donut, which if you follow you know I love any Harry Potter themed stuff. They were delicious; it’s possible we still have glaze on our car though!

We parked at the event after meeting at the Cabela’s parking lot. It was $10 to park at the event, but it was worth it to be so close to the race. Some of us walked over and showed off the capes that Jenni fashioned (from kid’s capes) fur the pups!

The run itself was fun. Hot, but fun. There are bubble stations all along for you to run through. Truffles did great. This was her first live 5K (she did a virtual one with me before) and was a trooper. Lots of water, pets and rolls in the grass made it the perfect day out for her.

Here’s what the race looked like for the rest of us.

We each got a medal at the finish. There was a temporary tattoo and a t-shirt in our pack which was great too, especially considering it was *basically* free! We only paid for the insurance cost which was $12 each.

I’d highly recommend checking out a Bubble Run in your area. There are still a lot scheduled for 2019. Thanks again to Jenni for suggesting the run and the meet up! It’s definitely been the highlight of our time in Connecticut.
