The South Norfolk Jordan Bridge opened for traffic in October 2012, connecting the cities of Portsmouth and Chesapeake in Virginia.
It’s a toll road, but there’s a way to cross it for free thanks to its mile-long pedestrian walkway. The bridge provides some amazing views of the Elizabeth River and surrounding area, so it’s definitely worth the trip if you live in – or are visiting – Hampton Roads.
Shae recently walked the South Norfolk Jordan Bridge with Truffles and a couple of friends. They walked across from the Portsmouth side of the bridge, spent some time at the Elizabeth River Park on the Chesapeake side before heading back.
Here are 40 photos from their walk, including where to park your car, how to get to the bridge and how to find your way to the Elizabeth River Park on the other side.
