Psssst…. It’s me, Truffles!
I stole the ‘puter from my pawrents to tell you all about the fun I had on howl-o-ween at Antietam Brewery.
I don’t usually tell you all my deep puppy thoughts on things, so I figured after three years on the road AND with the way 2020 has been going it was time you heard from me.
Thanks to mom and dad’s visit to the National Museum of Civil War Medicine (which isn’t dog-friendly… places really should think about updating their pawlicies so that small pets can be carried inside places like at Luray Caverns), they found out about Antietam Brewery and the kid and dog-friendly pawty they was having on Halloween.
Now, you might be thinking that doesn’t seem like a very good idea in 2020, but masks were required and my pawrents are excellent social distancers so outside seating offered was a must fur us to attend. Thankfully Antietam Brewery had that well in hand.

After a long day walking around Antietam National Battlefield on my tiny puppy paws, it was finally time to rest, have a drink and pawty!
Now, historically I has been a Hufflepup fur howl-o-ween because I gots these great robes with a tiny scarf. I’s adorable in them and everyone loves to see me in them. Well, all of mom’s nerdy friends anyway. But this year I went as a “fur-maid!” Because I always “want to be where the people are.”
We found a great seat outside and dad got himself an Antietam Lil’bens Milk Stout and mom had an Antietam Granma Otto’s Cider. I had water, because unless it’s Dog Pawrignon from Pet Winery, I’s not interested thank you very much. There were a few other furiends dressed pup for howloween and many bald puppies (also known as “childrens”) who were also dressed up.
I enjoyed getting pets and attentions while mom and dad relaxed. There was good music and then it was time fur winners of the costume contests to win prizes! I gots an honorable mention and a HUGE box of treats from the lovely Stacey which did make all the walking earlier in the day totally worth it.
Antietam Brewery was a good place to stop after a long day walking around the Battlefield fur some good music, good drinks and nice people – especially if you wants some pets! Thanks to them fur making it a fun way to end our day with tasty drinks and a place to relax outside in the fall air.
