I’ve now been to the Warner Bros Studio Tour in London at least six times and it feels like every visit just gets better and better. The studio tour displays exhibits from the making of the Harry Potter movies and is an amazing experience for fans of the movies (and books!)
My most recent visit was a belated-birthday celebration with my UK bestie, and fellow Harry Potter fan, Stef. We went for the Afternoon Tea experience and it was worth every penny. It costs £39.95 (~$54) per person for the Afternoon Tea (or more if you’d like to add champagne like we did), plus £56.00 (~$75) per person for the Studio Tour.
Here’s what you can expect – all information and fees are correct at the time of writing in September 2025.

You need a separate ticket for the Afternoon Tea experience, in addition to a ticket for the studio tour, as both are required to do the Afternoon Tea. We got our tickets for tea at 3:30pm and our studio tour for 5pm. This was the perfect amount of time for both experiences, since the studio tour closes at 10pm.
Being the seasoned professionals that we are at visiting, we didn’t think we’d need more than a couple of hours at the studio tour, yet somehow we caught the free 10pm shuttle bus back to the Waterford Junction station. If this is your first visit, and you’re a massive fan, plan to be there until closing if you start your experiences that late.

We arrived, our tickets were checked and we were seated right away. Our server was Lilly and she did a fantastic job. We’d ordered the Champagne Afternoon Tea experience, so in addition to unlimited tea, coffee, and hot chocolate, we got a glass of sparkling wine each. We ended up ordering a bottle of wine too, just to make the most of the experience and our girls weekend.
We started with a pot of Earl Grey for Stef and I ordered a Frog Cafe Hot Chocolate that came decorated with a tiny chocolate frog! Our champagne arrived soon after and then our trays of goodies, so we took the time for all the insta-worthy photo ops.

The tea tray had three tiers of wonderful treats and a delivery of scones on the side. Some were better than others, with the best bite being saved for last.
We started with the Butterbeer Scones since they were fresh out of the oven… and they were perfection! They didn’t use clotted cream (boo!) but the thick whipped cream was an acceptable substitute for the experience. The tiny, warm toffee pieces in the scones were the real stars of the show.

The four finger sandwiches were tasty. In order of my favorite to least favorite: prawn mayonnaise on lemon bread (light yellow), cucumber & cream cheese with dill & chives on spinach bread (light green), Wiltshire ham with grain mustard mayonnaise on tomato bread (light red), and chicken with creamed curry mayonnaise on dark cocoa bread (brown). They were clearly trying to pay homage to the Hogwarts house colors, but knowing that few would probably want blue bread or fillings they went with “bronze” for the brown bread to represent Ravenclaw since the colors for the house in the books are blue and bronze (in the films they’re blue and silver.)

I could’ve had an entire plate of the prawn mayonnaise on lemon bread (the lemon was just the right kick at the end) and the cucumber and cream cheese were also to die for – so good. Ham is never a go-to for me, and neither is the popular sandwich filling here called Coronation Chicken. But, I appreciated the variety of flavors and the colorful breads.
The next tier up also featured savory treats. In order of my favorite to least favorite (although this was a much closer list): Common Room Sausage Roll (filled with ham hock and feta sausage), Hogwarts Meat Pie (filled with beef brisket and topped with a little pastry H) and Scottish Smoked Salmon on Beetroot Waffle (inspired by McGonagall’s Scottish home and the location of Hogwarts).
I could’ve lived on the sausage rolls which is not something I normally go for at all. Whenever Warner Brothers wants to offer them in packages for sale, I’ll be at the front of the queue.

Finally, it was time to indulge in the sweet treats. I’d made the mistake earlier of not tasting each sandwich first so that I could leave my favorite until last. I therefore made sure not to make the same mistake again.
I started with the Follow the Butterflies truffle. I’m not a massive fan of passionfruit, but this was still very good so that’s saying something. I moved on to the Golden Snitch which is white chocolate (it’s not chocolate!) and filled with raspberry. I should’ve had it first, as it was my least favorite overall but I didn’t catch that it was white chocolate until I got to it. I thought it was a cake pop; no, I didn’t read the descriptions (lol!), so I was disappointed on that front, but it’s down to personal preference, not the quality or flavor of the treats provided.

Next came the macarons and little pumpkin cake. I love macarons, but Stef doesn’t particularly. She was therefore going to try one bite of the yellow one and I was going to finish it for her and enjoy the darker macaron which looked like it was filled with chocolate ganache. Dumbledore’s Sherbet Lemon Macaron was light and a quintessential macaron. Stef really enjoyed her bite, which was a surprise to her, and she said that if this had been her first macaron experience she’d probably like them much better. Lupin’s Chocolate Macaron was good but a little overdone, so it was more dense than I’d expect my macaron to be; however it was still in the battle for the last bite.

Hagrid’s Pumpkin Patch was the other bite I was choosing between. Touching the little cake, it seemed like it might be dry. I couldn’t have been more wrong – it was deliciously perfect. The decorating was also top notch, so I almost didn’t want to eat it; I just wanted to preserve it and take its little cuteness home with me for all time. I think it helps that we visited the site of Hagrid’s Hut filming location earlier this year. In the end, the final bite had to be the pumpkin loaf cake with pecan “dirt.”

From start to finish the Afternoon Tea experience was incredible. I highly recommend it and you’ll get a real treat if Lilly is also your server.
The studio tour is changing all the time these days to keep things fresh and keep us returning to the Wizarding World, so it’s worth checking back for different experiences. I posted about my two most recent visits here, so check out that post to find out more.
