Yes, it was completely the opposite direction of everywhere we were heading that day.
But when I saw that Hub City Scoops in Spartanburg, SC was celebrating National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day, I knew we had to go.
I stopped in and got all the details from Brittany the day before. From chatting with her, I had a great feeling about Hub City Scoops as she was so friendly and informative.

Hub City Scoops was opening early on Saturday with special breakfast-themed treats. They were offering cereal milkshakes, ice cream fruit parfaits, donut ice cream sammies and much more! Best of all, they offer a free vanilla scoop to puppers!

This year, National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day was on Saturday, February 3rd. That morning we headed into downtown Spartanburg before heading to Table Rock State Park for a hike on our final day in South Carolina.

It turned out to be an excellent decision.

There was a line but it was moving really quickly. Stephen chose a fruit salad parfait with salted caramel ice cream. I chose a donut sammie – a Krispy Kreme glazed donut filled with chocolate brownie ice cream.
Truffles got a small scoop of plain vanilla. There’s some discussion about dogs and ice cream but after research we’re OK with a few licks of plain vanilla for Truffles on the rare special occasion. For each of us, they were the right choice.

Besides the amazing ice cream, the service and decor were great too! The owners were there serving up scoops and ringing the register. The walls were covered in fun, sweet (pardon the pun!) sayings to bring a smile to your face. As if ice cream weren’t enough to do that already. They also had a great selection of warm drinks which we didn’t try.

We’d highly recommend stopping in to Hub City Scoops whenever you find yourself in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Truffles gives it 4 out of 4 paws fur ice cream deliciousness.

I love getting your weekly inspirational updates. I’ve got a birthday coming up this week, and think I’ll start the celebration by having ice cream for breakfast…..;)………since I missed the day last week and all……:)
I’m glad Truffles is back to her normal self….
Ice cream for breakfast on your birthday sounds like a great idea – happy birthday!
