What’s better than one day of Woofstock?
Two days! And the second was a girls day for Truffles and I filled with making new friends, shopping and even a puppy model photo shoot!
Truffles and I started day 2 by showing my wristband and getting a bag of free liver treats from Crumps’ at entry. They turned out to be Truffles’ favorite treats of the weekend.
We started by visiting several stalls including RePaws, a company for ethically sourced and handmade dog sweaters (and adorable collar flowers!). We found the biggest bowl of treats ever from Kijiji and we even saw a celebrity on the go!

The weather was cooler and made it the perfect time to try out The Lure Course being offered by Eukanuba. Truffles has never done anything like the course before. Dogs chase a ‘lure’ – in this case a plastic bag tied to a string – around a course and through a series of obstacles trying to catch the lure.
Truffles looked excited for one minute and then mostly looked around. As she watched we made friends with the pup in front of us, Nova. She could see what was happening and was so excited. I got some great pictures of Nova running her course.
There are no pictures of Truffles on the lure course. Not because she didn’t try but because I couldn’t take pictures and try to get Truffles to run around the course. Truffles looked at the lure take off and looked at me. She didn’t get what she was supposed to do at all.
I grabbed a treat in the hope that I could ‘lure’ her around the course. In the end, I did the lure course and Truffles followed me slowly, sitting pretty for her treat over and over. Maybe I should have tried to go through the hoop – now that would’ve been a picture worth capturing!
Once we finished at the lure course, we made our way over to watch The President’s Choice Super Dogs. I’d not heard of them before but I’m so glad we made our way over as it was really entertaining. From dogs that jumped through a high jump to steal the bars, dogs that jump rope with their owners, there were dogs that hold onto frisbees no matter what and Detective Sniffy, who can sniff out a stinky shoe! The best part was getting to meet the super dogs and their trainers at the end, plus the gift of dog food from their sponsor, The President’s Choice Nutrition.
After watching all this excitement, it was time for a little shopping and treat sampling. We found all we needed at Moroccan Pooch Fur Care and Amber’s Barkery. I got a great shirt while Truffles got to sample wonderful, all natural, freshly baked treats.
We were also on the hunt for a prize for a competition we were holding in our Facebook group. How many dogs would Truffles get her picture with?
We were by the Rescue Village so we had a look to see if we could help support rescue pups while getting the perfect gift for the winner of our competition. We ended up finding our prize at Speaking of Dogs Rescue and put together our little prize pack for the winner. She guessed 25 dogs and Truffles took pictures with 27! A huge thanks to RePaws as well for providing a 15% off coupon for our prize pack, as well as the treats we were able to share from all the great freebies at Woofstock.

Speaking of pictures with dogs, we met two more celebrity dogs and one who’s famous to us – a friend we met through Instagram. We met Sunny who is carrying on Smiley’s legacy and Dean the Basset. We also met up with Ms. Bougie Frenchie at The Wag Swag booth.
Before we finished our Woofstock experience, we entered a line for Canada Pooch. They were looking for a new Top Model. With such a beautiful pup, we couldn’t pass up the chance to get her photo taken by a professional photographer. It would also give her the opportunity to be the next face of Canada Pooch. Truffles was measured and fitted with a furbulous raincoat with a watermelon pattern. Truffles didn’t win but doesn’t she look adorable?
There was so much fun to be had at Woofstock. Truffles seemed to enjoy all the sniffs and attention such a large event afforded her. I loved being able to talk to vendors and other dog parents. The whole weekend was a blur of fur and fun.
If you get the chance to attend, we highly recommend making a weekend of it. Even with both days, we missed some of what was on offer. The fun, connections and all the snacks, treats, food, coupons and magazines from many of the vendors and partners at Woofstock that Truffles ended up with made it all worthwhile. Thank you for 15 years of Woofstock, we look forward to many more years to come!
