You mean you don’t drive 1.5 hours to take your dog to brunch?
Do you even love your dog?
Truffles is lovingly nicknamed “Princess Paw” in our house, for good reason. She’s been taken to North America’s Largest Dog Festival, enjoys specialty dog events, dines in the finest dog-friendly locales and gets treated like royalty at most of our hotels.

So when we found out about the Bone Soiree Dog Brunch being held at Hotel Covington in Covington, KY, we knew it was just the event for us.

Hotel Covington offers this once a month during the summer months. Their next planned Dog Brunch Event is June 22, 2019 but it’s not on their official events calendar yet so you should call ahead to confirm the event.

The event didn’t disappoint. You sign up for free tickets so the hostess, PetCakes, can plan her treats. If you want to eat people brunch, you’ll want to call the hotel and book a reservation or you may have a wait for a table. Our friends Susannah, Jason and their pups (who told us about the event) joined us too.

When you arrive, you’re given people brunch menus and one for the dog brunch. There are a variety of choices to suit any pup’s palate.

They even offer doggy beer and champagne, although due to our budget, Truffles didn’t imbibe. Melinda from PetCakes offered quite a few homemade treats, but Truffles went with the bacon strips after sampling the turkey paw prints that her friends got and realized that wasn’t what she was craving.

In addition to yummy treats and beverages, there was a fun photo booth set up to take pictures with your dog and, in our case, our dog and her friends. Truffles’ friends at the Bone Soiree Dog Brunch included Mr. Bojangles (IG @official_mr_bojangles) – who had his wedding catered by PetCakes previously – and Mr. Bojangles’ sister, Truffles’ BFF Lola (IG @lolathenewgirl) and her boyfriend, Paco (IG @the_real_pacocabra).

I’d only met Mr. Bojangles before, so this was my first time meeting Lola and Paco after following them for a year on social media, so I had a blast getting all the kisses… until Truffles caught me.

Our people brunch was delicious, especially with the great service from Deborah.

After we finished eating we went around the brunch, meeting other dogs and letting Truffles get a little dip in the pools provided.

She made some new friends – Mabel, Winnie, Chloe, Jake (IG @jake_the_woofer) and Sebastian (IG @lilsebastianthefrenchie).

Overall, the Bone Soiree Dog Brunch at Hotel Covington is a really fun time where you can enjoy being outside with your dog and your friends. It’s also a pawfect time to try dog-friendly treats, get photos together and meet new pups. I highly recommend visiting if you have the opportunity.
