On our way from Spokane to Seattle, we decided to spend five nights in Leavenworth, a Bavarian-style city in the middle of the state. We stayed at the Hampton Inn Leavenworth which is in a convenient location only a mile from downtown and right next to a grocery store.
Our stay overall was very good as the hotel has some good amenities, friendly staff, a decent breakfast and more.
Here’s a full review of our stay at the Hampton Inn Leavenworth, WA.
Check-In
Before visiting Leavenworth, we’d known that stores in the city were designed in the style of a Bavarian village. What hadn’t occurred to me is that our hotel would be designed in a similar way, looking somewhat like an Alpine chalet.
We arrived at the hotel at about 6:30pm and were greeted by the very welcoming Kay at the front desk. With no other guests checking in when we arrived, it didn’t take too long before we had our keys to room 240.

Bedroom
When entering our room the bathroom was on the right and the bedroom straight ahead.

The bedroom area was a pretty good size for a Hampton Inn and its decor made it feel much newer than some of other Hampton Inn properties which seem far more dated nowadays.

Our king bed was comfortable and the room’s blackout curtains worked well to keep it nice and dark at night. There were shelves on both sides of the bed, along with power outlets on both sides.

To the left of the bed was a sleeper sofa and a small, moveable side table.

Opposite the couch was a desk and office chair, with a coffee maker on top.

To the left of that was a cabinet with a TV on top, a microwave and a mini fridge in the left cupboard. Beneath one of the shelves was a large ottoman.

The right hand cupboard had several sliding baskets inside which was a useful extra feature that we made use of.

To the left of the bathroom door was the room’s closet. This contained a luggage rack, iron and ironing board, along with bedding for the sleeper sofa.

Bathroom
The bathroom had a walk-in shower and a long countertop around the sink. The shower’s water pressure was good.

Rather than having small bottles of toiletries, there were large wall-mounted bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Although I prefer having these larger bottles in hotel bathrooms, one of my pet peeves is when housekeeping hasn’t filled them up. That wasn’t the case at the Hampton Inn Leavenworth as the bottles were all well-stocked.

Overall, we liked our room. It was clean, comfortable, quiet and had enough storage options for our needs (we travel with more stuff than your average hotel guests).
Breakfast
The Hampton Inn Leavenworth offers complimentary breakfast for all guests each morning. It’s served from 6am-10am; I always appreciate when breakfast is still available later in the morning like this rather than finishing at 9am like some hotels.

There was always some kind of egg and breakfast meat options, along with waffles, oatmeal, bagels, fruit, yogurt and more.

Something nice that the hotel does in the morning is offer to-go breakfast bags for anyone who’s planning on going out hiking so that they can dine on the go.

They also have a 24/7 coffee and tea station available in the lobby.

Amenities
Swimming Pool & Whirlpools
The Hampton Inn Leavenworth has an indoor swimming pool which was a lovely temperature – much warmer than most hotel pools.

There was an indoor whirlpool…

…while a door in the pool area leads out to an outdoor whirlpool which was an unexpected feature. There was an outdoor seating area in that enclosed section too.

Guest Laundry
Another unexpected feature – for us – was the guest laundry room. The hotel’s website hadn’t mentioned having this amenity, so it was a pleasant surprise to find one there because we needed to do some laundry.
There were two washing machines and two dryers. The washer cost $2.25 per load, while the dryer was $2 per load. Even more conveniently, you can pay using a credit or debit card.

Fitness Room
The hotel has a decently-equipped fitness room with three treadmills, an elliptical and a Peloton bike, as well as weight equipment.

Business Center
If you need to use a computer and/or print something off, there’s a business center room which has two computers and a printer.

Pantry
To the left of the front desk is a pantry area where you can buy snacks, drinks, toiletries, etc. and even wine from a local winery.

A helpful feature in the pantry area is a cupboard with dining items like paper plates, plasticware, etc. Those items are free for guests to take as needed.

Pet Policy
The Hampton Inn Leavenworth is a pet-friendly hotel. You can have up to two dogs or cats per room, with a weight limit of 75 lbs for dogs. Their pet fee is $75 for stays of 1-4 nights and $125 for stays of 5+ nights. We got lucky though; we had our dog Truffles with us and stayed five nights, but only got charged a $75 fee.
The hotel has several grassy areas around the property to be able to take your pup to do their business.

Service
Service at the hotel was pretty good. As mentioned earlier, Kay was very friendly when checking in, as were other staff members whenever we had interactions with them.
I think we declined housekeeping during our stay and so can’t comment on that other than that our room was nice and clean when we arrived.
Wi-Fi
The hotel offers complimentary Wi-Fi for all guests. It had a good speed and connectivity; we both had to work and had Zoom calls during our stay and never had any issues.
Check-In & Check-Out Times
Check-in at the Hampton Inn Leavenworth is from 3pm, while check-out is at 11am.
Location
The hotel is in a good location for exploring Leavenworth. It’s only a mile or so to downtown Leavenworth, so you could walk there if you wanted. There’s a Safeway grocery store next door to the hotel, so that was useful for grabbing groceries during our stay without having to drive anywhere.
Parking
Parking is free and there were plenty of spaces available.
Cost
We booked our stay using points. They were charging 41,000 points per night and so our five night stay would ordinarily have cost a total of 205,000 Hilton Honors points. However, if you have Silver status or higher with Hilton (something you can get with a no annual fee Hilton credit card), you get every 5th night free on award stays. That meant we only had to redeem 164,000 points, or an average of 32,800 points per night.
The cash price for our dates was $182.94 per night including tax which means we got 0.55cpp (cents per point) of value. That’s about average for Hilton points.
Final Thoughts
We enjoyed our stay at the Hampton Inn Leavenworth. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious enough, the staff members were friendly, the complimentary breakfast was good and it had some good amenities like guest laundry, a warm swimming pool and two whirlpools. If we head back to Leavenworth in the future, I wouldn’t have any hesitation staying here again.
Truffles Approval Rating
Truffles gives the hotel four paws out of four – pawfect! She liked how quiet our room was and having some good grassy areas around the hotel, with one of the most scenic backdrops from any of our stays.
