Wamego, Kansas is home to all kinds of fun Wizard Of Oz attractions. They have the OZ Museum, Oz Winery, Toto’s Tacoz and more.
Something we didn’t realize they had until we visited was Totos Around Town. In 2018, a bunch of Kansan artists decorated 15 Toto sculptures and Wamego hid them around the city. Well, I say they’re hidden, but they’re all in plain sight and the city has even provided a helpful treasure Toto map to find them all.
We were moving from Topeka to Hutchinson on our 5 year, 50 state road trip, so we stopped off in Wamego along the way. This was our second visit as we wanted to bring Truffles along for the fun. She’s a black dog, so this gave her a chance to see the most famous black dog of all.
Truffles helped us sniff out all the Toto sculptures, so here she is posing with them all – tap the right arrow button to see her with all 15 sculptures.
Full disclosure – many dog treats were harmed in the making of these photos.

The map of Totos Around Town numbers the sculptures from 1-15. We started at number 15 as that was the farthest out, so here’s how to find all the Totos Around Town from 15 down to 1.
15) Raider Nation
This one can be found at the Wamego Recreation Complex and is at the end of the parking lot near the restroom building.

14) Yes, Toto, We Are In Kansas
You can find this sculpture outside the Short Stop gas station on the corner of US-24 and K-99.

While you’re out this way, take a look at the seemingly-abandoned house on the corner as there’s a surprise waiting for you.

13) Patriotic Toto
Totos 11-13 can all be found in Wamego City Park. The weather wasn’t great the day we visited (it was cold, wet and windy as it was early February), but it looked like a fun place to visit when the sun’s out. There’s a Dutch windmill, children’s train, playground, historic village and more.

12) Maggie The Service Dog

11) “Toto”lly Gingham

We drove around to find those five Totos, but after that we parked in downtown Wamego as the other ten are all close to each other. The three Totos in the park are within walking distance as well – we just chose not to do that due to the weather.
10) Community Toto
Community Toto can be found on the corner of Lincoln Avenue (K-99) and 4th St.

9) It’s All About The Shoes
Keeping Community Toto company is It’s All About The Shoes.

8) Splash
Splash was suitably dressed for the day we visited and can be found outside City Hall, along with Wamegoscape II Toto.

7) Wamegoscape II Toto

6) Somewhere Over The Reading Rainbow
On the opposite side of the road is Somewhere Over The Reading Rainbow. This Toto has plenty of reading material as he’s sitting outside the Wamego Public Library.

5) The Lollipop Guild
The 5th Toto is a little more hidden away as he’s not on Lincoln Avenue. To find him, you have to follow the Yellow Brick Road – literally!

4) Emerald City Toto
Follow the Yellow Brick Road back to Lincoln Avenue and you’ll see Emerald City Toto.

3) Poppy Dog
Cross back over Lincoln Ave and you’ll find the final three Totos Around Town. First up is Poppy Dog who’s outside the OZ Museum.

2) Wamegoscape I Toto
Also outside the Oz Museum is Wamegoscape I Toto.

1) Toto In Tulips
Our final stop was Toto In Tulips who’s sitting outside the Wamego Area Chamber of Commerce.

Bonus Toto
There’s at least one bonus Toto to be found in Wamego. I’m not sure if he has an official name, but this additional one can be found in the window of the OZ Museum. His outfit looks like he’s part of a Wizard of Oz / James Bond / Superman crossover – that’s a movie I’d pay good money to see.

Final Thoughts
It only took us about 45 minutes to find all the Totos Around Town in Wamego KS, but it was a great opportunity to see more of the city. With these sculptures, the OZ Museum, Oz Winery and more, Wamego is definitely worth a day trip if you’ll be in northeast Kansas.
Other Sculpture Hunts
If you enjoy these kind of public art displays as much as we do, check out all the other sculpture hunts we’ve found around the US on our 50 state road trip.
We have visited Wamego. Sweet little town. Wish the Totos had been there.
Yep, we were lucky that they were installed last year 🙂
