A place for dogs and their humans.
When I saw the website for Bark & Brew after finding it on Bring Fido, I knew this was a place we needed to visit with Truffles.
I thought I was ready for it’s pawsomeness. I was not.
It truly is a place for dogs where their people are welcome too! You walk in and there’s a doggy gate where a Dog Butler (read: In my mind, Doggy Bouncer!) lets you in and monitors pups to make sure no one leaves without their human.

There are rules but they’re completely reasonable. You’re bringing together pups from all different places and their humans while adding alcohol to the mix.
Truffles hadn’t been socialized very much before this road trip started. Now she gets out a lot and each interaction with a new pup is better than the last, but I still get nervous when we go to new places with other dogs.
Truffles is a people extrovert and a doggy introvert. She wants to meet just about every person she sees but wants to have a compawnionable silence near most dogs. Rocket, clearly a people AND doggy extrovert, came up and became her greeter. Do I wish she’d warm up to other dogs more quickly? Sure. But each dog has their own pawsonality and it just has to be respected. Everyone was really kind and understanding while Truffles settled in.

The bar for humans was amazing. Tons of fun and sweet dog stuff around and great drink options, including specially named dog-themed drinks. I ended up with a Pomeranian – a pomegranate margarita – while Stephen ordered a porter. Now, this isn’t just a glorified indoor/outdoor dog park, so make sure you get at least one drink per person. This shouldn’t be hard with so many great options! There isn’t human food available, but you can bring it in or have it delivered so you can make an evening of it.

One of the best things about this human-friendly dog bar is that dogs can be inside. Dogs can find comfy spots on the floor by their humans or they can cozy up nearby in one of the many dog beds around the space.

You aren’t able to bring in snacks for your dog, but you’ll find that you don’t need to when you see the Bone Bar. This is the spot for your furbaby to get their treat on. Orders can easily be added to your tab which is such a convenient feature.
Truffles chose some peanut butter paw-shaped cookies and pugs in a blanket (hot dogs in bread). They’re served in little red baskets and a regular, Willow, knew that the basket meant treats. I’m sure that over time Truffles would come to anticipate the arrival of the baskets just like she does with her breakfast snacks (from her dad’s pockets) at hotels.

We sat outside for a while letting Truffles explore and meet other pups. She spent most of her time chasing her ball and getting sniffed by Willow. This is her usual M.O. at dog parks being a doggy introvert as previously discussed. The outside area was a nice large space with baby pools filled with water, seating areas, safe fencing and Dog Butlers to clean up waste.

We made our way back inside and spent time chatting about our trip with Bonnie, Roger, Zak and Tara. Tara’s the owner of Bark & Brew and she gave us so many great suggestions for fun in Door County. She’s been open since November and is usually run off her feet – we just came in on an unusually quiet night. We highly recommend going and spending time there – with or without a pup – to support this new venture.
One of my favorite parts of the evening was snuggs with the resident pooch – Kenneth. I’m not usually a fan of people names for dogs but it really suited Kenneth. I may have enjoyed our cuddles more than him, but he was a good sport and let me pet him for a minute or two.

I may have found my future in Bark & Brew. I loved the concept, the decor, the owner and the entire expawrience. So grab your mutts and strut on over to Bark & Brew fur a night out that’ll definitely go to the dogs.

This looks like such a cool place! Is it weird to show up without a dog so I can just pet all the cute pups who are there? Lol
Definitely not weird at all! That’s what I’d do!
