During our stay in Burlington, Shae and I went for lunch with a friend we’d met at a conference about 8 years ago and hadn’t seen since.
We had Truffles with us as it was a beautiful day, so we needed to eat somewhere with outdoor seating. While walking around, Burlington appeared to have plenty of pet-friendly restaurants, so we weren’t short on options.
Rachel made a few suggestions and we ended up choosing to eat at The Skinny Pancake on Burlington Waterfront.

A wide variety of both sweet and savory crepes are on the menu at The Skinny Pancake, along with salads, burgers and more.

Once you know what you want, you go inside to order and they give you a number for your table.

The Deja Vu savory crepe sounded tasty, but I ended up ordering the steak hash. This consists of braised local steak with roasted root veggie hash, served with two eggs any style (I chose sunny side up) and a housemade English muffin.
My lunch was pretty tasty, although the steak was a little dry. The English muffins were interesting as their housemade ones had a different consistency to store-bought ones – they were almost like bagel-muffins which was no bad thing.

Shae ordered the Garlique Chic savory crepe which came with chicken, Cabot cheddar, basil-sunflower seed pesto, caramelized onions and roasted red peppers. She enjoyed her meal too, although wasn’t blown away by it.

Rachel ordered poutine for the table and opted for the chicken gravy rather than the veggie gravy which came topped with cheese curds.
I don’t like cheese, so I picked around the cheese curds. The fries and chicken gravy were excellent though.

For dessert, Shae ordered the Brownies In Bed crepe which contained a freshly baked brownie in a sweet crepe with whipped cream, ice cream and chocolate sauce.

As you can probably guess from the description, the Brownies In Bed crepe was pretty tasty.

Final Thoughts
The Skinny Pancake in Burlington is in a great location near Lake Champlain. The service was friendly and the food was pretty good, although it’s a little expensive for what it is.
