At the end of our second week in Vermont this year on our 50 state road trip, we moved on from Waterbury to Brandon.
While driving along we stopped off at Warren Falls, a beautiful set of waterfalls and swimming hole. Once we were done there, we continued on our way to Brandon, but spotted another waterfall off to the right. We had stuff in our cool bag that needed to get into a fridge before it became spoiled, so we resolved to return.
So having gone for a hike to Silver Lake a few days later, we returned to Warren Falls where Shae did a mini-cliff jump, stopping along the way at the waterfall we’d spotted a few days earlier.
That waterfall was Moss Glen Falls. It turns out that there are two sets of waterfalls called Moss Glen Falls in Vermont – this is the one in Granville and doesn’t require that you hike to get there.

Instead, there’s a small parking area right next to the falls, so you just take the short walkway to reach them.

It’s awesome that Moss Glen Falls is right there next to the road, as these are the kind of views that normally come at the end of a long hike.

The wooden walkway comes to an end, but you can walk around and across some rocks to see the waterfall at different angles.

We checked out the falls on a Wednesday afternoon, so it wasn’t busy when we visited. I can imagine it being a more popular stopping place at the weekend and during summer vacation.

Truffles came along for the ride, but she didn’t seem quite as enthralled by the falls as we were.

Finally, here’s a video I took that shows how beautiful the falls are.
How To Get To Moss Glen Falls
Moss Glen Falls can be found off to the side of the road on Rt 100 in Granville, Vermont. Here’s a link to the parking area on Google Maps so that you can get directions there.
How Much Does It Cost To Visit Moss Glen Falls
Nothing – it’s completely free.
When Does Moss Glen Falls Open?
From what I can tell, you can visit the falls any time of day or night seeing as it’s right by the side of the road and I didn’t see any indication that they close off the short walkway. I doubt it’s worth visiting at night though – there’s no street lighting, so you won’t see anything.
