After Stephen made his list of 7 cities he’d like to revisit, he asked me to share the cities I’d like to revisit too.
I have 6 in the US and 1 international city that I’d love to revisit, buy Airbnbs in, live forever (or at least in good weather)… whatever.
Here’s what they are:
1) Biloxi, MS
I LOVED it. Beautiful beach, fabulous hotel, great location to other areas… sigh… I almost wish we’d just hunkered down there this year.
We always talk about places that might be great to live in a few months a year and Biloxi is now at the top of my list for those cold winter months. The weather in January was great and I could happily relax there a few months each year to avoid the cold.
2) Green Bay, WI
While Green Bay itself doesn’t hold a lot of my heart – Bark & Brew does. Our first completely dog-friendly eating and drinking establishment on the road trip. We follow along with Tara, Kenneth and Bark & Brew on social media and just can’t wait to go back. Add in the fact that it’s near Door County which was amazing and definitely deserves more than one day of our attention. That’s why it’s #2 on my list.
3) Waterbury and Stowe, VT
Actually, I’d happily put anywhere in Vermont on my list (even Burlington if pressed!). I love Vermont. Montpelier with its cute downtown and the Quirky Pet, Waterbury and Stowe have Ben and Jerry’s, Middlebury has the Middlebury Tasting Trail and the Dog Chapel in the Northeast.
4) Lexington, KY
I really enjoyed so much of Kentucky and while I’d happily stay at the cute Airbnb in Louisville again, I loved our time in Lexington. One of the main reasons was Harkness Edwards Vineyard. I’d love to go back and relax with great wine, Truffles and Nini again.
I’d really like to have my friend Maggie join me too; we met on the river near Frankfort but she’s my kind of people. We’d kayak, drink wine, talk about helping young people and relax. Yup, sounds like a great time to me. Plus another chance to visit a few beautiful horse locations in KY just make it even better!
5) Newport, RI
We stayed in Providence but my heart is definitely in Newport. The coastal vibes were awesome even if we didn’t eat any of the fantastic food. And with goat yoga on its doorstep it’s just the kind of place I’d like love to spend some more time.
6) Charleston, SC
Full of history, great food, great drinks, shopping and friends, Charleston is definitely a place I’d like to spend more time in. It’s where we were introduced to boiled peanuts and Byrd’s cookies (even though they’re based in Savannah, GA) and found out about a historic Civil War submarine. Plus, it’s south which means better weather year-round than some of my other choices – another bonus.

Honestly, I have a ton of other cities that get honorable mentions: Cincinnati, OH, Enterprise, AL, Savannah, GA, Savanna, IL, San Antonio, TX, Terlingua, TX, Roanoke, VA, the DC area and Nashville (GA, not TN). I could probably still come up with more… but I had to leave one space for an international city.

7) Amsterdam, Netherlands
Oh man. We’ve spent some time in Europe and I’ve always enjoyed the places we’ve been with Bath (England) and Edinburgh (Scotland) being two of my favorites… that is until we went to Amsterdam. That is my kind of place. A city, with countryside nearby. Water everywhere. Walkable and bikeable. History – we only spent 4 days there I can’t even wait to explore more of the history available. So, I had to make room to include it because I’d LOVE to get back there sooner rather than later.
