After a short hop from New York’s LaGuardia airport to Boston Logan airport, Shae and I had a few hours to kill. We were also getting hungry, so we decided to take advantage of our Priority Pass options.
In case you’re not familiar with Priority Pass, it provides access to hundreds of airport lounges and restaurants worldwide. We each have free Priority Pass memberships through some of our credit cards, although Shae’s one through her Chase Sapphire Reserve card is the best as she can invite an unlimited number of guests for free (in theory – more about that to come).
We’d landed in Terminal A and were due to leave from Terminal A too, so ordinarily that would be great. Unfortunately there weren’t any Priority Pass restaurant or lounge options there, so we had to choose between the following:
- Stephanie’s – Terminal B
- Jerry Remy’s Sports Bar & Grill – Terminal C
- The Lounge – Terminal C
- Air France Lounge – Terminal C
- The Club – Terminal E
To get to any of the other lounges, we had to leave the secure area, so bear in mind that you’ll need to head back through security if you go to any of the other terminals from Terminal A. We have TSA Pre-Check though, so weren’t concerned about long delays.
We originally decided to check out Stephanie’s, but that’s airside after security. The security line to get into Terminal B was lengthy and not moving, so I checked the Priority Pass website to look at our other options. I noticed that Jerry Remy’s Sports Bar & Grill was listed as being landside (i.e. before security) in Terminal C, so we headed there instead.
The route we took was through the parking lot, but there’s a slightly longer route around keeps you inside if you don’t want to be exposed to the frigid air during the winter/early spring. Jerry Remy’s Sports Bar & Grill is easy to see once you reach Terminal C thanks to its lime green exterior.
There was a sign advising to seat ourselves, so we headed to the back of the restaurant where it was a little quieter.
Jerry Remy was a Major League Baseball player and is now an MLB broadcaster. As such, there’s a large baseball influence around the restaurant, from the baseball bat room dividers…
…to pictures of former Boston Red Sox players on the walls.
Our server brought over the menu and grabbed us each a water. The restaurant has a selection of alcoholic beverage and soft drink options:
When eating at Priority Pass restaurants in the US, you tend to get $28 to spend per guest. That meant we had $56 to play with which includes both food and drinks (including alcoholic beverages).
Although Shae’s Priority Pass membership normally allows her to invite more than one guest, Jerry Remy’s only allows you to use your membership for one guest.
It seems to be owned by the same company as Stephanie’s (another of the Priority Pass restaurant options at Boston Logan airport), as we were given the card below later on with our check explaining their policy. This is something that would be good for them to display prominently so that families or groups of friends aren’t caught out after their meal with a larger-than-expected cost. That said, their Priority Pass listing does include those terms, so it’s always worth checking those carefully first.
Shae ordered a glass of the Syrah, while I stuck with water as I wasn’t sure at that point how much our bill would come to. After we’d ordered our meals, I got a glass of the house Merlot knowing that we’d still be under our $56 limit.
Jerry Remy’s has a good selection of meal options. The prices are also pretty reasonable considering it’s an airport restaurant.
I had a hard time choosing between the tuna burger sliders and the smoked turkey sandwich. Realizing that we’d be served dinner a few hours later on our next flight, I figured I’d go for the tuna burger sliders appetizer.
The menu described these as:
Three yellowfin tuna burgers seasons and topped with seaweed salad and sriracha aioli.
The sliders were a little larger than I was expecting, so it’s a perfectly fine size to have as an entree. They were very tasty, with the sriracha aioli bringing a nice little kick without being too spicy. If we ever return to Jerry Remy’s, I’d be happy ordering this again.
Shae went for the Caesar salad and added some grilled chicken breast. It turned out to be a larger salad than we’d expected and the chicken had some kind of garlic butter marinade. They offered the choice of the Caesar dressing on the salad or on the side, so she got it on the side.
Shae enjoyed her salad a lot, so this is another solid option at Jerry Remy’s if you like Caesar salads.
The restaurant was pretty busy and there only seemed to be two servers working that afternoon, so they were both hustling. Our server Angela was great though, still managing to check on us, refill our waters, etc.
After finishing our wine, it was time to head back to Terminal A for our flight to the UK. Our check came to $48.58, so in theory we still had almost $7.42 to play with. That meant the meal was free, although we still tipped based on the cost of the full bill.
Final Thoughts
If you have a few hours to kill at Boston Logan airport and have a Priority Pass membership, Jerry Remy’s Sports Bar & Grill is a great option. The food was tasty, the portion sizes are good and the prices are very reasonable.
Just be aware that it’s before security. That means you’ll need to leave time to clear (or re-clear) security after your meal, no matter which terminal you’re flying out of.

I have never used Priority Pass at a restaurant. Do they take up to $28 per person straight off the top of your bill, or is there a reimbursement scheme involved?
stephen says
It’s straight off your bill, so it’s an instant discount. We therefore didn’t need to provide a credit card at all as we just left a cash tip.

So from reading this, when it says you can use your membership just once in a 24 hrs period, does that mean that you could not potentially go to both, Jerry Remys and Stephanies on the same day?(taking into consideration their 2 hrs rule)?
stephen says
It’s tough to know – I guess it depends on if they regard Jerry Remy’s and Stephanie’s as one, or if you could only go to each of them once in 24 hours.
